Why I Chose Arbonne

 

5 years ago two colleagues in the event industry approached me to join up with Arbonne. At the time I was ridiculously career driven within the events industry and just was not interested in ‘pushing skincare’ I didn’t have time to truly appreciate let alone fit into my daily routine.

 

My work week was anywhere from 50-85 hours and I was OK with this until I spent 2 years working exclusively in catering sales as an event manager for a Toronto based caterer. ‘You will have benefits’, ‘You will have bonuses’, ‘Your commissions are 15% on food and Beverage sales’, ‘Your salary is $55,000 for a 40 hour work week’ But was all hearsay and there was little I could do because there were NO available jobs in my field. 

 

After getting engaged my soon to be husband gave me the choice – to continue to work there and be miserable and hate life or leave and freelance as a consultant for event planning and catering with some of the most incredible caterers in the city as well as for ourselves as Bloch Events. I choose the later and have been thrilled until I was 9 months pregnant and in a kitchen that means I took up too much space in the walk in fridge and was really more of a slow moving obstacle. For event planning it meant I was no longer able to be on my feet for 16 hours in decent looking shoes running through a venue and putting out fires all while not succumbing to ‘baby brain’.

Now 5 months in and thinking about getting back to where I was full time and where my husband still is, is not an option. How can I leave my child for 11 hours a day 6 days a week and some days go 2-3 without seeing her beautiful face. How can I leave her with someone I barely know to feed her nutritious meals, read to her & teach her with the love & patience she deserves? How can I sleep if I don’t get to kiss her goodnight most nights of the week or see her most mornings? When will we all have family time together if daddies schedule is just as crazy. The answer was I couldn’t – not full time, but how do I supplement that lost income?

 

Then my incredible friend Jocelyn – also a former event planne called me about a company her aunt was working for over the past year and funny enough I had heard about it; Arbonne. She filled me in on all the new additions to the line that the company had been acquiring - Make-up, Nutritional products, Vitamins & a baby line; all of a sudden it made sense to start switching out the more expensive products I filled the house with, to the cheaper and safer products Arbonne now had in its range and with the discounts and earnings for switching over the house I was not out of pocket but better informed of the 1,000’s of chemicals I was cutting out of my daily routine!
