Happy New Year!
Nothing like a start to a new year with fresh new goals! I personally have not been one who is able to approach new goals at the start of the new year - not because I think its jujjie, but because my commitment levels after the holidays need a little juice & motivation! Maybe it is all the 'itis' from junk food and epic 4 hour grazing meals. Maybe its the weather? All I know is a little push is necessary.
So, how am I am going to get going? Im going to start the year with daily stories about others in this business who have done AMAZING things and broken out of their comfort zones to acchive the lives they want! I am going to add them to my support team and my Mentors & drill their stories into my brain. Starting with Haley Duncan - a Successful Real Estate Agent & mom turned Arbonne RVP!
Here is her story!
As a real estate broker, Haley Duncan of Carlsbad, California, was familiar with the ups and downs of working a business. Finding the balance between having time with family and making the money her family needed seemed like an endless loop. So, she made a decision — something had to change.
I was introduced to Arbonne when a friend invited me to her Arbonne launch party. I had never heard of Arbonne and was very skeptical. I remember rolling my eyes and thinking, “Oh no, she’s gotten involved in one of those things!” I attended the party to support my friend and was surprised at how fun and educational it was. The products were amazing, but it wasn’t the products that got my attention. It was meeting ERVP Holly Kleiman and learning about the business and income potential. She explained that you could work this business part time, have the opportunity to replace your full-time income, and earn a Mercedes-Benz Cash Bonus! I remember wondering if this was something I could do.
At the time, I was working in real estate and had been a real estate broker for over 12 years. My whole professional life was real estate, and I had just completed an MBA program with an emphasis in commercial real estate. I always imagined that I would have a career in real estate and actually enjoyed my job, but I never really felt a sense of comfort, fulfillment, or purpose.
In real estate, I found I had no control of my time or income. When the market was good, I made a great income, but I found myself stressed out and missing time with my family. When the market was slow, we would dip into our savings and rack up debt, but I would have more time.
SUCCESS STRATEGY
Even though my husband is an attorney and makes a good income, we found ourselves swimming in debt with huge student loans, mortgages, and credits cards. In addition, I had a 2-year-old at home and a second baby on the way. Things weren’t getting any easier! I longed for a way I could stay home with my girls, work flexible hours, and still bring home a full-time income. After attending another Arbonne event, I knew in my gut that this is what I was meant to do. I read success stories and met many successful women in Arbonne that I could relate to. I thought if they could do it, I could too.
When I started my business, I imagined my journey to Regional Vice President would be a nice straight line to success. Wow, did I have a lot to learn! My road was filled with ups and downs, turns and bends, and many obstacles. I had to overcome my fear of rejection, completely get out of my comfort zone, and become more disciplined and focused. A year into my business, I decided I would do whatever it took to become a Region, and I set a hard deadline of six months. This was a big goal because I was a District Manager at the time.
Once I made that decision, I became unstoppable.
I read daily affirmations, set goals matched with activities, and started reading personal growth books. My mindset changed. I stopped procrastinating and did every recommended activity with intention and focus. Five months later, I went into qualification for Regional Vice President. Today, I’m a Regional Vice President and embarking on my next goal, National Vice President. I am truly living my dreams, and I wake up every day with an overwhelming feeling of gratitude, happiness, and accomplishment.
Because of this business, I’m able to have time, freedom, financial security for my family, and choices! My advice is enjoy and embrace the journey, have faith, and go for it! Arbonne, like life, is full of challenges, ups and downs, sacrifices, and hard work, but the payoff is something no other career can offer; making both your personal and professional dreams come true.
Here is to a great 2016!
